It's A Glow Up✨

Everyone Loves A Glow Up

Hey! It's been a while, but like all good rom-coms, I've been away focusing on myself and now I've come out better than ever. I've grown wiser, so this newsletter brings even more value 🌞

Books To Read, Movies To Watch

  •  "The Creative Act" by Rick Rubin is a great book for learning how to express yourself and communicate better. It's also written by a cool person.

  •  "One Italian Summer" by Rebecca Serle is a romantic comedy book set on the Amalfi Coast where the girl who is always in control finally lets go and lives life.

  • "Foe" Starring Paul Mezcal and Saoirse Ronan. Need I say more? It's a futuristic film that explores AI and the future of our planet. There's a surprising twist at the end. You can watch it on most streaming platforms!

Skincare

Since moving to LA the water and air here have not been kind to my skin. My skin is breaking out and my hair feels brittle. Here is how I am tackling my breakouts and dry skin while on an extreme budget.

  • HYDRATE: Most of our problems can be solved by hydrating more.

  • Eat less sugar :(

  • Wash your face: Make sure you are cleaning your face before going to sleep! I like removing my makeup with Trader Joe’s Jojoba oil. It leaves my skin feeling more hydrated, removes makeup like a champ and it is only $10. As always, make sure to test the products out on the inside of your arm before slapping them on your face!

Career Moves

I get asked to look over resumes and make people look good for jobs. Hey! No shame in that! But if you are looking to uplevel your career and don’t have a copywriter friend or you don’t want to hire someone here’s a tip. The future of ChatGpt is uncertain right now, but as long as it is free use it to your advantage. Here’s how 👇🏼

  1. Read the entire job description. Don’t just skim.

  2. Create a Google Word Doc with your current resume. Include your all previous experience.

  3. Sign up for Open AI.

  4. Prompt the AI. You can say, "Can you write me a resume for the position of [role title] at [employer]? This is the job description: XYZ. For context, I [include the experience you'd like to highlight]."

  5. After it is generated, look it over and make sure everything is accurate, and tweak the resume to make it sound more like you. The key is to have the resume match the job description keywords. Some jobs have resume AI screening tools. Use this as a template and change the words.

  6. After this copy this onto a Word document and head to Canva.

  7. Pick a simple resume template. I like to match the style of the template to the job. If it is a creative job, make it fun! Show off your style. More corporate? Keep it as simple as possible!

Those are some tips! Hope they help and free to contact me if you need any more help!
